You win some you lose some.

Here's another spot to check out over in Silas. Known for their Pizza, they serve up everything from fresh Seafood to Steaks and Bimbo's quite the authority on Indian artifacts.

Gail's Diner in Woodville, AL. I found this place last year while coming back from a long ride. I went right by it and smelled the food and turned around immediately. I had a burger and fries and it reminded me of the old dime store burgers from a long gone local place here in Albertville. I went back to Gail's today while riding the Paint Rock Valley. There are several good roads in the area and this place is right at the start of Jackson County Rd 8.

I had the Double Cheeseburger and fries. Trust me, stick with the single. It is absolutely huge and delicious and I finished it all but payed for it with that "uh-oh", I've eat too much bloated feeling. Gail is the owner and HE must know everyone in that area. Out of 15 or so people in the diner, I was the only one that didn't know everyone else. It's a GREAT place to stop. I tried to get a photo of the front of the Diner which shares a building with a store but my phone got wet up on the BRP last year and the camera no longer focuses on anything except close-ups.

Give it a try, you'll love it.

Same thing, was riding along and turned around because of the good smells..

The birthplace of Hank Williams. McWilliams, Alabama. Truth.... they are trying to get a sign back up, the old one was stolen.

Great soul food. I had fried chicken, bbq pork, baked beans , collards, yams, and sweet tea for $6 And good folks working there, I'm from down here, and couldn't understand a word said by the cook. Darn good food tho, and a cool spot to eat. There's the old town and hotel just off the main rd, the lady that owns / runs this place is full of local knowledge also..

Ezell's

The original Ezell's Fish Camp in Lavaca, Alabama. On the banks of the Tombigbee River. Rustic old fish camp, lots of old taxidermy on the walls, good catfish, great fried dill pickles, traditional southern too-sweet iced tea.

Here's one from a couple weeks ago...

…Dixie Landing Café in Little River AL, north end of the Delta on the Alabama River…

Bart and Clay are pictured with the owner, Robert Dean, who is a commercial fisherman. Goooooood eaten' there! We actually rode 100 miles round trip to have lunch there from Isaac Creek Campground. And it was worth it!

Back of the café overlooks bend in the Alabama...

Clay got the catfish…

Shrimp salad...

As an added bonus, you can stop by for a and visit the grave site of Chief Red Eagle (William Weatherford), which is about two miles away:
