Cohutta Gravel Ride 3-12-06

Well, I've had the PD for about 3 weeks or so now, and only ridden back a forth to work during this time. With new TKC 80's mounted, I needed to hit the gravel a little bit. SupperMoTodd had gone to Ky. to meet Dingo Joe, and pass the K75s on to a new owner. On his way back home, Todd was Hell Bent to come home, get a few camping things together and hit the Cohutta Wilderness Area for an overnight camp out and a Sunday Ride.
So, I got up early Sunday morning, and headed down to find him, and I did. At the Slygo C.G. near Jacks River Trail Head. NoPCLance & Simon (Proud Owner of a SWEET XRL! ) came down as well for a Sunday Ride, along with Todds son Ben.

We waited around and finally went out for a ride.

A bit of Double Vision in the Cohutta.
Then, Meanwhile,........Somewhere in the Cohutta Gravel Maze....

Just on the way back to the camp site, 3-4 miles away, a bit tired,.......

Daaaaaamn !!!! Son of Beech,........Sheeet! .......Oh Well, at least THAT'S over with. It's already fixed! The Valve Cover was not near as bad as it looked, and some Red Spray Paint did the trick on the Crash Bar.
Jump on in here Todd with a few of your pics.

ATTENTION! Trailer Trash II @ T.W.O. is coming in the next few weeks.
YES, It's short notice, but hey, are most good things done without much planning?

Boojum I've been thinking about a ride where you would go into Cohutta at Eton GA (along Holley Creek) and come out at the Ocoee there at Thunder Rock Campground (I've done this part many times its about 55 miles) but then cross the highway into Big Frog Wilderness and work your way northeast to FS 81 in North Carolina to where it runs along Santeetlah Creek, pretty good camping along the creek and you have the eastern terminus of the Cherolhola just a few miles away. I think this could be done with very very little pavement when all the FS roads are opened back up.
