Just rode Bodie Creek from Bodie to Aurora, Fletcher, Lucky Boy, etc., so thanks but I am gonna pass on that one. That and I am heading out for Convict lake Monday, then a little exploring along Montgomery Pass and over to Candelaria.

If any one is interested, we are taking Gil Robert's ashes to Mt Pat next Sunday. Gil was long time friend of Jesse Goldberg who was put there 1999 and has plack below peak.

Up through High Rock Canyon and Beyond in August

Hello,

Canada is calling and I'm planning a trip from Sparks starting Sunday, 02 Aug. Going to go through the High Rock Canyon and then up to the Paulina Lakes in OR. I'll get myself to the eastern end of the Columbia River and then head West to the Olympic Peninsula on my way to Vancouver..... about 50/50 tarmac and dirt. Planning on about a 200m/day average...... We know how that goes!

If any one would like to join up for a bit that'd be just fine. Yes, it will be hot.... I ride a BMW650 w/ Yamaha front end and enjoy camping out in the wilderness. I pack plenty of spares and water. Have about a 225 mile usable range.

I'll be coming back via the Eastern WA, Hells Canyon, Three Forks and the greater Owyhee/Chimney Dam area a few weeks after that...

JP

Have an awesome trip! And remember: If you die out there in the desert, the PNW guys will never let you live it down for the rest of your life.

Oh, wait- the rest of your life won`t be a long time to endure the scorn! Best to just worry about the awesome ride part. Carry on

Ok cancelled until next weekend. Sharpie has to work on the house and I should work on the bike so it is ready for a four day camping ride on 8/15 to 8/18 which is open invite to anyone interested.
Going to head toward Yosemite and back. Acutally it is 4 days for Sharpie, but I have the the week off until Thursday so I thinking about staying on the bike while I can.

Big Bike roll call tomorrow. Start from Sierraville 9:30. Up to Mills Peak, from there I have no idea what we may run into. Going to try to get over to Johnville Mcrae Rd. via Smith Lake, it could be a little rocky if it is anything like the Gold Lake jeep rd. Once on Johnsville Rd. going to explore north and back east going toward state park.
