If you don't know me why are you waving at me?

If you aren't someone I would take a bullet for, why are you in any way involved in my life? Sheesh.

That's what I do....

if the folks that DON'T wave back were to look in their mirror after we pass, they would see that the five fingered wave has changed to the ONE fingered wave...

Yes, but I suspect that if they are on an HD you intentionally over-cook it.

The riders that have done this are the H-D, no gear guys, although one rider today had mirrored sunglasses, if that is any consolation. Is it a suble way to say I see you but I don't formally acknowledge you? Wave or no wave, don't care, just wondering if there is a meaning. Educate me, I'm a noob.

You're overthinking it. Probably hand motion is a minor wave, then hand on knee. I've done that on my dual sport. I acknowledge others. I just don't do the big Mickey Mouse wave...

i wave at everyone, even and especially scooters, unless i'm downshifting quickly or in a really technical section of road. i don't expect a return wave. if my wave pisses you off, consider it my little gift supporting you in your dedication to antipathy!

Yesterday I saw a kid looking despondent in the back seat of a car with his family, staring at me as I rode by. He lit up when I waved at him.
