Aiming to get out around the Arrowhead and Big Bear areas tomorrow (7/27) on the big-bike.
Probly rolling out of garage ~8am and spending most of the day up in the mtns.

This will be a reconnaissance ride for a future event
Maybe not a whole lotta dirt, lotsa wandering to random places and stopping to check things out.

I need to gas up straight away, so how about 8:10 at Mobil on Milliken at the 210 (Albertsons parking lot)?

Matt - did you guys end up getting to Big Bear? Buster714 and I were riding up there Sat on small bikes. We rode up Gold Mnt, through and down John Bull and then rode Redonda. We were pretty beat and decided to just ride 3N16 back to Big Piine CG and then over to Fawnskin. Halfway between Crab Flats and Big Pine we came up on a rescue scene, paramedics, park rangers, helicopter, etc. A guy riding by himself on a XR650 apparently stopped on the road after feeling dizzy, got off the bike and sat down. Some jeep guys stopped to check on him and he went into convulsions and died. They did CPR for 45 mins but he was gone. He had no ID but did have a cell phone. Sunday morning checked in at the Ranger Station in Fawnskin and they didn't have any updates.

Bad deal.

That's terrible! W saw a guy riding a XR650 in a white shirt and blue jeans at one point, I don't remember where we were.

Maybe 914 will put some pics up if I ask him nice.

WOW That is crazy. RIP fellow dirt rider dude

We rode Green Valley Lake > Crab Flats > Big Pine Flat > Fawnskin. I'd say that was from 9 to 11 am. Saw some jeeps and a side-by-side, but don't remember seeing any bikes.

I also saw the white shirt/jeans guy on an XR650(L?) a couple times. Looked like a local, just cruising around. Actually, we saw lots of dual sport riders all around the BB area around noon. Mostly pairs and groups.

Still haven't pulled any pics off my camera. Maybe tonight...
