I suppose you could go that route and request a map, although we should have them for you int he Rally Bags ;-)

The tracks I believe she said will be BLM...we just emailed her to see what the statues is. Once I get them I will host and post up the files.

But if I was willing to donate the entry fee with no expected merchandise, would I (or others reading this) be welcome and encouraged to join the party?

Or is this an event for people who actually plan in advance?

Please join us. We may even have a few extra shirts that can be purchased. With a registration we can at least set you up with some Meeker bucks and have you participate in the giveaways.

Hope to see you there!

Mark

Well, thought my schedule made the RMAR rallies a bust for me this year, but plans change and now I could conceivably make the Meeker rally.

Since I'm not registered, is there a way to participate in any group events even if I'm not "officially" in. Sounds like yes, but is there a way to contribute to the rally or do I just "crash" the party, so to speak. Also, I'm not a camper, so does anyone know the status of lodging in Meeker?

I haven't been keeping up on the thread since I did not expect make it, so any concise updates would be appreciated. I'll read backwards through the thread this evening to try and figure out the latest info.

Thanks

Give a call to Elk Mountain Inn (970-878-3656) as I expect they still have rooms. modette and I are staying there as are several others. Its right across the street from where the park and event area will be.

You can do a walk up registration for $60. $25 comes back to you in the form of Meeker bucks which can be used anywhere in town (dinner, food, gas, etc) and the remainder goes to RMAR and the trail access efforts that we work on with other organizations. You can also buy an event shirt for $20 but we only have a hand-full of extras.

Hope to see you there!

Modette/nwcolorider,

Is there an itinerary for the Meeker ride? My buddy and I are trying to map a route to get us there. He said the 31st is a riding day, so are folks rolling in the 30th and riding 7/31 through 8/3?

No schedule for me, I will get there the 30th, early afternoon.
One of the days I thought I would lead a ride up through Dino land and the bench road.

Sounds like a nice way to spend a day! What's the bench road in terms of terrain? I've a buddy coming with an F700GS and not much dirt experience, so I'm trying to figure out some rides we can do together out there.

I'm getting there on the 29th (Tuesday).

Technically the event is 31st to 3rd.

People come in all different times, sometimes it's a day before, and other times is Friday night and they ride Saturday and leave Sunday. I personally over the years like to come early so if I feel I want to take a day from riding I can. As of now Tuesday I will try and get there ASAP so I can jump on the XR650R and scout and get a feel for the area. (Maybe have a bigger bike loop planed out, well bigger in up to 650cc).

This for us will be like how our events used to be. Small group of good people in an area most of us have not ridden. I would recommend being in a group of at least two.

I'm also bringing the GasGas EC300 for some tight single track that is suppose to be just West of Meeker.

Thursday night we will have some speakers from Meeker.

We should be getting maps in our Rally Bags. They have a Wagon Wheel route that is like 250 miles, jeep roads and should be of various skill levels.

Leaving Winnipeg on Sunday to meet up with North Rider from Thunder Bay. Looking forward to riding in the mountains, just hope I can out snore North Rider. Looking for the easy rides, the GS is just not the same as the Sherpa.
