The dual front discs for 1981 was a bonus.

The bike has 43k on it and has a long history of proper maintenance. Most mechanical items were up to par so I focused on things like finding and restoring the rear / side rack, saddlebags, windscreen, etc. I've got some rides planned for the Litchfield Hills and along the shoreline to Rhode Island.

I've been a life member (and instructor) of the BMWCCA for quite some time and recently gave up my E46 330i for an X1 2.0T. Finally found a modern BMW car that didn't seem "overly electronic / assisted" (mine does not have electric steering). So I've been a BMW fan for a long time and now am very happy to have my first "Airhead".

Cheers!
Ron

Looks a bit like my old R65, except I painted mine from brown.

New

New to me 2013 F700GS somewhat pre-farkled. I sold my modified '12 Bonneville back in May after not riding it much over the past year (mostly due to weather). I wanted something a bit more foul weather worthy and that would be a bit better on unpaved roads. Even still, I almost jumped on an R-nineT but didn't feel like getting something heavier than the Bonneville. This popped up at the local dealer so I ran over. After riding a demo F700GS as well as an F800R my decision was made.

Thanks man. The brand is "US Racing Boy", you can find them on eBay. They're 3.5" and 4.25". Just got them mounted Tuesday night and have only had time for a few short test rides. The seem really well made and aside from having to clean out some powder coating swapped in very nicely. And they're cheap, like really cheap compared to Warp9 or other sumo wheel setups.

Who's little fairing is that?
Looks familiar but I don't remember BMW having one like this, other than the LS model.

It is an LS fairing, but not an LS bike.

OK, if you say so.
