Saw this today at the BMW dealer and the head mechanic sung it's praises. He'd like one of the ADV inmates to buy it and put it to good use.

It's a nice bike for someone - and cheap!

Any reason not to drive a more fuel efficient rental car up to St. Louis this weekend?

With Diesel going up and gas dropping I figured I would get a rnetal car for the trip to St. Louis this weekend. Unless there are any good deals in the area that I may need to take the truck to haul home.

If you can wait a week, I have to go to St. Louis next weekend. I'm delivering my fifth wheel to its new owner and will have an empty 8 foot dually bed coming back.

Well If I find any deals up there this weekend that I can't ride home or haul back in a buick I may let you know. If I had posted this earlier in the week I could have just taken my truck and pulled the trailer up there for you. Oh well. I am kind of last minute on most things.

Up for sale is my 2009 Kawasaki KLX250s. Looking to get a bigger bike. This week only I've reduced my price to $2,850. Will include the pelican box and rack and the phone holder, but not the Ogio tank bag or roll chart holder. Information here and I have a clear title:

The Xchallenge is going the rally bike route: I put on the big tank now, TT subframe comes next, and then the rally fairing from HotRodWelding as funds permit.

68 Mustang coop. 200 6, 3 speed in the floor. motor has been rebuilt and runs great. trans shifts good but shifter has slack in it. interior is original and shows it's age. the carpet and dash pad look the worst. will need quarter panel work. Has the rare GT hood. has new ruber flex lines and wheel cylinders. needs the master cylinder change out but i have a new one. will need a gas tank. I have the old one, you can use it if you want to try it. And needs a fuel pump as it started spraying gas when i fired it up today. This may get fixed over then next few weeks along with the master cylinder if I get the time. also comew with stock wheels as it has chrome spoke wheels on it now. showing 64k on the clock.

comes with a second good striped body. that body has some spare parts on it as well. extra door and finder, heater parts. seats. stearing gear, and some other odds and ends.

$2250.

It needs a bath, that it will get soon.

Want to impress your friends at Starbucks or the local ADV watering hole without actually risking life and limb to give your bike that "adventured patina" look? Buy some pre-adventured tires!

This fine specimen is a set of Kenda K784 Big Block tires, often mistaken for the much more expensive (by about $150) and longer lasting (by about 2.3 miles) Continental TKC80 tires.

First up, we have the front tire. Coming in right at 110/80-19, this bad boy is sized to fit the front wheel of your V-strom, Super Tenere, R1200GS (but not the water-cooled models), or even an old Caponord.

Another view of the front tire clearly shows the cupping and uneven wear that's the hallmark of a well-adventured traveling machine! After all, on a real adventure, who has time to constantly air up and down depending in the terrain? Set it and forget it (at 21psi)!

The meaty rear tire, coming in at a hefty yet svelte 150/70-17, is also fit for most of the most popular soft-roaders. But don't let those macho looks fool you, this tire also sticks like velcro to pavement so the three-quarter mile trek from your house in the suburbs to the neighborhood caffeine den will be as surefooted as ever. Wet pavement traction is a lot like, well, wet velcro on asphalt, but who rides in the rain anyways? You can take your Land Cruiser instead.

Another view of the mighty, meaty gravel shovel shows the impressive wear sustained—nearly 3000 miles' worth! (That's a lifetime of coffee runs.) Impress your cohort by weaving tales of intrigue and mystery about your wanderlust-fueled walkabout traversing the western deserts.

All of this can be yours—only yours—for the low, low, low price of just $1. Where else can you find so many miles for so little money? In between work, the kids, and the wife, who actually has time to ride? This is serious street cred like nothing else money can buy!

Seriously, though. I'm not sure who would want these, but I'm throwing it out here before the tires get recycled. There're probably about 500 miles of easy street riding left before these are completely toast. No punctures or patches; they hold air. And they're actually free if you come and pick them up from me in the north DFW suburbs. And no, they won't fit your KLR.

At least the dirt and wear on them are authentic—they performed great when I needed them to!
