and you have a pipe and slippers and a blanket to keep ya knees warm when ya stop.

Dont ride with the cherman. Scares the shite out of me with his antics

Didn't know that the cherman was coming up for this? Will be sure to pack a thermos, and slippers, pipe & blanket are a given.

Aside from the 1st foresty portion the MMMMM is a GPS / route sheet ride, so everyone just gets on with it & the ride spreads out. Also tends to attract more committed riders. It's potentially too cold / far for total noobs.

Tora anyone?

looking to head out for a cruisey ride to Tora on the Wairarapa Coast tomorrow Friday AM - departing Duck Pond Avalon Park 10am.

Also, keen to be part of any mid week gravel rides - conscious only those who are self employed or like me, retired, have the latitude to choose to ride mid week.

PPS - I expect to be hosting Thierry - Swiss round the world traveller in the next month and will post up opportunities to meet / ride / chat with him

James aka exPatty has suggested a Kapiti start as an alternative - I'm flexible as long as there's gravel - not a huge fan of State Highway One :)

Kapiti it is

'Oaters no mates' they call me - nah, most others have to work Friday (and many other retirees don't enjoy seeking out 'the roads less travelled') so James (exPatty) and I will meet at Kapiti to start around 10:45am heading up the beaches for a while before heading in to the Mangahao Dam behind Shannon and possibly on to Takapari Road - I've yet to negotiate that one with James.

i plan on riding my DR

Cheers Oaters

Hi dazzadm - certainly keen to hook up for mid week 'mild' adventure rides - will be in touch - you interested in doing 42nd, Fishers and Old Whanga Road before winter as a mid week venture?

Cheers Oaters

Ooh, don't need to ask too many times for that one... I'm not able to make the 21st Mar trip due to too many other plans. So yes. Let me know when you are thinking of doing it...

Planning to leave Caltex Rimutaka 10:30am Sunday 22 March for back road riding in the Wairarapa and possibly Southern Hawkes Bay - we'll see how far we get - plans are fluid at this stage pending Thierry's arrival on Saturday

Wicked Admiral Road Ride

Meet at Rimutex (Caltex Rimutaka) on Sunday 29th March, 10am. We'll be heading over to the Wairarapa and riding Admiral Road from Hinakura to Gladstone before calling into the Gladstone Pub for refreshments/lunch. From there, those that are still wanting to do more can head out to Ocean Beach Road which follows the rugged South Coast. This is an opportunity to meet like minded riders while heading out on a gorgeous ride. The ride is well suited for beginners and follows a well maintained road through farmland.

There is an Event created on The Facebook where you can RSVP or just message me on here so we don't leave anyone behind.
