Glad to hear you made it back (mostly) intact. I am looking forward to more awesome pictures from your trip.

Doing something for the pure, unadulterated joy and pleasure of it, (which sums up how I feel about riding, and about traveling). I don’t expect anything from it, and don’t expect to leave my mark on the world, so I do this for me, and for the experience.

That really captures the essence of leaving on a long bike trip.

Would love to hook up for a coffee sometime and hear more about it.

Cheers,

Thanks Andy. Sometimes I wonder where the stuff comes from myself. I was probably into a triple scotch and feeling profound.

I'll be adding videos as I get through processing them. I have lots.

Question Anyone riding this weekend?

Lycan, great pics and RR! Wish I had the time to do that, or something similar! When the kids get older, I hope I can get out more... Until then I live vicariously through RR's such as this!

On that subject, anyone riding this weekend? I am trying to get a pass for at least part of a day... Not 100% sure it will happen and heard the weather might not cooperate! but you never know!

I am running out of time before hockey season starts... (ACK!)
=Lav1200;24753716]True that - but there is also an equally stunning dirt road that parallels it... the old wagon trail that runs from Kaslo to Retallack. It's a hoot on a dual sport.
When you say dual sport, what kinda size are you talking?

I'll be out that way in sept. at my sisters place on Summit lake. Will be on my Tiger 955, and am wondering about the do-ability on a bigger traily. I had read about this road before, but thought is was just mtn biking trail.

I'll be heading west with the 990 on Thursday if anyone is interested. Probably won't make the coast until Friday.

A 955 Tiger could do most of it easily, but there are a couple of short sections with some sketchy side-hill baby-heads. If you try it, have a buddy with you to help.

I'm also heading west tomorrow. Not heading as far as the coast, just into the west Kootenays for a week. Plan to be off by 10am at the latest after getting home from work in the morning. I'll be in Nakusp for a couple days at the Bee Cee Beemers rally then just rambling about the rest of the week riding and fishing.

Right on. Thanks for the heads-up. Will probably go for a look around at least

I'm heading there on Thursday morning. Would like to team up with some others and go via Grey Creek. Let me know if you are interested in going together.

Would like to use this route:
93 towards Radium, off on Settlers Road, South on fsr towards skookumchuck, across to Kimberly, over the Grey Creek Pass. North to Crawford Bay, across the ferry, up around through Kalso and around to Nakusp, or across to New Denver and then North and pop off to the Wilson Lake Fsr, or down towards Passmore and take the power line across to Faurquier and then up to Nakusp.
