Lodging in Silverton

Just replied in the Ouray Hotel thread, but thought I'd get some input on Silverton, since I've always stayed in Ouray.

The Mrs wants to stay at the Wyman Hotel next time we are in the area, but this trip is just the guys. A buddy and I will be bringing the KTM's in early Sept and I think it might be a bit more convenient to base out of Silverton. Not looking for anything fancy, just clean and reasonably priced. Room to park an SUV and trailer would be nice also.

I've been happy at Triangle, I think Prospector is the cheapest in town.
I always advise folks to check out Tripadvisor.com when you need info on lodging. it has given me consistently good results.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been bouncing between TripAdvisor and the Hotel websites to check reviews and pricing. TripAdvisor did not have prices for the the hotels in Silverton I'm considering and Red Mountain wasn't even shown as an option. The reviews were pretty comparable though, between 3.5 to 4 circles shaded.

Figured this would be a good place to check for recent experiences, especially since the RMAR event was up there just a few weeks ago.

I always (twice) have stayed at the Triangle for about $75 for two of us. They were very friendly and even let us park our bikes inside their private garage when it threatened to rain all night long.

Another Big Thumbs up for Red Mountain. Great people I will be there in a week and a half. been staying there for about 12 years now, can't stress how much the Owners add to our stay every year, weather with the wife and dog, or a bunch of ADVer's

I stayed at the Silverton Lakes campground during July. They have about 8 small cabins and about 30 spots for RV,s of all sizes and tents too. $63 a night for the cabin, small but clean. You have to walk to the bath house for the showers and restroom, but that wasn't a problem. If you stay there you shouldn't be disappointed, and you are definitely in the central location for a lot of riding, jeep trails anyways.

Sounds like several that meet the criteria. Guess my buddy and I just need to settle on a date and book some rooms. We have kind of picked the 8th of Sept. to drive up from Colo. Spgs. Hoping the monsoon season will be wrapping by then.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions/feedback.

I have been in ouray and silverton for the past 3 days. Weather has been nothing short of epic. Maybe the monsoons are done.
