Man, I had the weirdest thing happen!

I didn't know for sure what was meant by the hide statement, if Igbal (or was it Ivan?) the duck was "Hidden well, in front of the sign (like hidden really good, right in front of the sign)", or "Hidden, well in front of the sign (like a few feet away from it)".

I started in right in front of the base of the sign, and when I removed the ground cover I saw, only for a split second, a verrrry small piece of blue something, then as I dug further, it was gone! I figured it was just a piece of blue plastic crud or something. Digging deeper revealed nothing. Hunh?

Well then surely, it must be hidden well in front of the sign and not there at the base of the sign. So with several square yards of ground cover to look through, and what with Momma having taught her little Stoopy about the dangers of snakes n'such hiding in tall grass, I spent some fair amount of time swiping weeds and ground cover away with my boots, yielding nothing. Hmmmm.

Surely then, it must be hidden very well indeed, at the front base of the sign. Dammit, that HAD to be that damn duck I saw! So I went back to the sign, dug some more, and there it is, see the little blue speck at the bottom of the hole?

Dug down some more and the damn thing buried itself again...as if Haides himself was trying to grab our precious duckling!

Digging around the sides I finally got a finger and thumb around the duck's head and gave a tug. I could feel Igor trying to duck-dive further, but sheer adrenaline, plus the thought that someone would come down the road and wonder what I was doing with my arm halfway down in the ground, plus the thought of them snakes that Momma tol' me about, gave me the strength to pull the dirty duck back into our world.

So he's safe again. For now...

Damn, i had no idea there was a hole to the center of the earth next to that sign

You've been busy today!

Yep, been having a great two days of riding, took time off work and was rewarded with excellent weather!

So here's the new Tag... it's on a road that has shoals that run swiftly along the Shenandoah river. I favor accessing this road from a major highway named after a Confederate Army cavalry battalion commander that was recently alluded to in a recent tag in either this game or the NoVA tag (I get confused).

It's mostly a very straight, well-groomed gravel road that runs along the river, and if you access it the same way I did you'll see a triangular sign that used to say "Orgasmatron" on it but they painted over it...(damn them!!!!)

Go down the road a spell and it'll turn away from the river and there'll be a spot where it crosses just the cutest lil' ol creek ever, that feeds into the river:

Stop there, and you'll see a these gates blocking access to some farmland. The dotted line below shows a spot where you can easily step down the bank of the crick and turn around to face the hide spot:

Here's the "Hide to the Ride" shot, my Veek is parked fairly back a ways...

Since I didn't want Ignacius to be burrowing his way away like he did at the last tag spot, I made sure he was placed on top of solid rock, nowhere to run, and also well above any high tide that might get'im if it rains. I also put this old rusty piece of angle iron that I found embedded in a tree trunk, above his head, just in case he tries burrowing away again and you need something to dig with:

Covered up and marked in the manner of the ancient Apalachee:

And I will point out that - conveniently - the marking is visible from the road if you know what to look for, so no one has to strain themselves getting on and off the bike to look around, if you were thinking of taking the Gold Wing out for the grab:

This road intersects a fun, staight roller-coaster road (if you turn left) that the French might call porte rouge that takes you to a well-known ford (no not a Fairlane or Pinto) across the Shenandoah.

Thanks!

Hey NWVA taggers... Lets keep the VA Tag up in the NW VA area...it resides in Richmond most of the time...it'll drive 'em crazy!
