Changing the Throttle Cables
... and the little box.
The old stuff:
The new stuff:
The Updated throttle end, The new part is on the bottom:
The hole where the little box lives:
The difference between the old style cable sheath termination and the new version, (shown here at the bottom). The new version is metal where the earlier version had plastic caps. These plastic caps can slide off the cable, and when the sheath is pushed into them the exterior vinyl sometimes raises a burr. This burr was what was messing with my TB sync. I've seen similar things in old airhead throttle cables.
The burr that caused all the problems:
After re-syncing the TB's and a short test ride I decide all is better. The throttle action is much slicker than the 67,000 miles of worn original cables. Things are better now.
