I'm OK but I went down today
For the first time in more than 20 years.
Was at a stoplight in the left turn lane. When the arrow lit, I proceded left. As soon as I got about 10 ft into the intersection, the rear end washed out on me (and I was putting along). The bike slid about 5 feet and faced the opposite direction. I had on my gear and did not get injured. Looks like someone overheated there and spilled coolant. I didnt see it as it blended into the road color. When I walked it was like ice-slippery. Called 911 and they said they would send the fire dept to investigate so no one else falls there. Never saw them show up though.
Now about the bike:
The ABS light blinked for two start cycles and is now off.
Crash bars on the left side are ground down on two bar sections. A little work with kratex and some silver paint made them look like they have seen action but dont bother me to look at. There is a slight scrape on the plastic engine guard.
The Micatech left bag is rashed at the leading front edge. Nothing a little paint wont fix, maybe some sealant at the seam there as well. The Micatech brackets got bent up and had to be removed and flattened back into shape. (Now the bags slide on easier anyway).
People jumped out of their cars to help me. That was good.
Many thanks to North Dallas BMW for their help getting me back on the road! These are a GOOD bunch 'a guys!
