Dual Sport Oktoberfest, Maggie Valley NC

Just wanted to inform everyone about Oktoberfest in Maggie Valley NC. It is supposedly a 4 day dual-sport event, with a roll chart led ride every day. These daily rides are approx. 200 miles with great scenery. One day the ride is for experts only, last year only 17 of the 100 participants completed. Sounds like a good event, you can get the details at www.highlanders.biz

Dates: Oct 13-16 2005

I'll be heading down from Long Island, NY for the advanced ride on Friday. My mother in law moved to Murphy, NC this past summer and my wife has been planning on heading down with the kids for a visit - Now I've found a reason to join them.

Any body else going???

This is the first year I have missed over the past three years or so.

Always a good event IMHO. Very professional with a wide range of riding options. Different difficulty levels matched to different days of riding.

Wish I could be there.

I plan on being there, although my self imposed limit of 5 pickups per ride precludes my involvement in Friday's event.

Great time of year to see that beautiful part of the country. Wish I was going to be there.

Myself and 5 others will be storming in from Raleigh, Wilmington, Atlanta. We rented a cabin in Maggie Valley for Fri-Sun. Have not done this ride before but looks extremely fun. We have been hoping to tap into some good fireroads and trails in this corner of the state. We usually frequent the riding parks (Brown Mtn, Brushy Mtn) and fireroads near Pisgah NF Grandfather District. We will be on KTM 450 and 520, Husaberg 450, and a WR400...looking forward to the A-Loops .
