'DOG' camp & ride 1/13 through 1/15

As discussed in the ongoing DOG thread (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194015), a few of us will be camping in the Warwoman Wildlife Management Area, in Clayton, Georgia. We will be meeting Sat am, and plan to have kickstands up at 9:30. If more than a couple people show up, we ought to split into a couple ride groups in my opinion. We will camp Sat night, ride Sunday, camp Sunday night, and ride out Mon morning (MLK day). I do not know the area so this is not an organized ride, a la 'Flux's Big Adventure'. Just some dudes who want to ride during the day and swap stories at night.

Exact Directions: From Clayton, GA (NOT Clayton COUNTY) take hwy 76 East out of town. You will go a few miles til you see "CHECHERO
CHURCH" on the left (it is a very small church). After the church
you will make your next LEFT which is "POOL CREEK ROAD". Pool Creek starts out as a small paved road, and turns into dirt in a mile or
so. Eventually you will see my truck, which will be parked on the
main road. My truck is a 2000 Z71 Silverado, maroon in color. On
the LEFT, you will see a creek crossing. Cross the creek to get to
the campsite.

Check out this site for a good map of the area. This is what Dags has printed off. http://mycountymaps.com/ga/ Click on "Rabun County" and you can figure out where we'll be. Very cool site to bookmark anyway.

***I do not think there is alot of room for truck parking at the
campsite. One option for folks is parking at the Walmart south of
Clayton and riding in that way. Parking bikes will be no problem.***

I will bring some firewood, camp chairs, a tarp, coolers, and I have a small
stove. I do not mind picking up a bunch of easy-to-cook food like
dogs and bubba burgers if folks will throw some $ back my way.

I wouldn't mind getting an idea on who will make it so I know how much food to get, if any. But, feel free to just show up.

If anyone has any questions, just let me know. Hope to see you there.

I'm going to bring a tarp as well.

Does anyone own a power inverter they can bring?

Does anyone own a guitar with the talent to play it or a radio they could bring

Flux - do you have a container to bring a supply of water?

I'm going to bring my own food to make it easy on you but I would appreciate using space in your cooler

Please no banjos

Yes, bring a guitar...we might run out of firewood.

I have one of those big Gatorade coolers that they dump over coaches heads I will fill with water. Also, you can drink your own pee in an emergency.

I have a couple coolers. I will bring them all.

Ya'll check out the stuff up Overflow Creek Road if you haven't already. Hang a left right after you pass the the bridge over the West Fork of the Chattooga on Warwoman Rd, just before it dead ends at 28.

Got any other ideas of roads in the area - I'm new to exploring this area?

GaM, thanks for the road tip. You know all the cool places. I just checked out that road on the map and it is one I have been wanting to take a look at. It is definitely on the list.
