Very very nice. It's a miracle they put it in production nearly exactly like the prototype. Just like Syl has a crush for the Mulhacen, I have one for the MT-03.

Enjoy spring on its way!

What's the price tag on a new one? Just curious.... It looks like an incredibly well built and simple bike.

It is difficult to compare prices (here in the Netherlands we pay 20% VAT and an extra 20% on top of the netto price), but it is about 1000 euros more expensive than the Yamaha XT660.

We saw the prototype on the Intermot in 2004, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that they had taken it in production, almost unchanged.

Yes its the minarelli engine that also is being used to power the XT660X/R and Aprillia Pegaso.

It's the logical optheose of the line SR500 -> SRX 600 -> MH660

It is, there is a lot of real superb craftmanship in this bike, all concentrated on Cornering and andjoying the Twisties great roadholding with a nice compromise between stiff enough to stabilise in the corners, but soft enough to not get out of shape on bad tarmac, and a brak as good or even better as on the Bimota.

But it comes at a price for such a great "little" big bike.
The official price in te Netherlands is 8.795 € being 11.700$
While the XT660X LE SPecial only costs 7999 € being 10 633

But Hey wats the Better bike Esthetically and partswise?

XTX660 LE special (akropovic cans and Oldstyle paintwork)

Or:

It's seems to fly around corners just standing around waiting for it to happen.

P.S. dear Moddereater how can one join this thread to the Mulhacen Threadfeast, to tide up the litter i make?:-)

At EICMA 2005 we had our booth across from Derby and I spent all day watching the Mulhacen.
