I need some help with the emission garbage on my bike!!
I have a 2004 950 Adventure (silver late 2003). I have done some digging on the site and have got quite a bit of stuff gathered to do the canisterectomy, SAS removal and I will need to remove the EPC as well.
I know most of you probably don't have or didn't have the EPC on your bikes (it sounds like it is only on the early European models) anyway, to the guys that have it or have removed it, it looks to me like one end of the solenoid is open to the atmospere. Does the other end go into the airbox? What if anything, needs to be capped or plugged when the EPC is removed?
Here is another one for ya. I did alot of reading about how you guys set your carbs up after all this junk is removed. I don't really have access to a dyno, but was wondering what might be a good general carb set up would be. I have Akros on the bike and my elevation is 1090 ft. It looked to me like most guys kept the stock jetting, moved the clip for the needle to three and adjusted the mixture screw out 2 turns. Does this sound about right?
