First little off road rides for a couple of KLR guys
So Steve and I decided we better get these things off road. So we went north of Squamish (the road to get there used to be much enjoyed by the sportbike crowd until the started to "improve it" for the 2010 Olympics.
After getting off the main highway we hit the Squamish Valley road. 20 klicks of twisty, ugly pavement ... if you're on a sport bike. On a KLR? More fun that I've had in a while. We were railing corners, jumping over train tracks (whoops After hitting tripple digit speeds on the gravel roads (YAY) we stopped on this little bridge and took some pictures. KLR's hanging out (note the excellent tire ... Steve's looked about like mine. )

We rode a while further, but had to go meet our buddy Tony who just bought ... you guessed it, a red KLR.
![]() So back we went, passed a couple of cars (man it was dusty), and then again (slightly) broke some speed limits on the way back. I noticed that I still couldn't shift into 6th gear at 130 ... though for some reason I continued to try. Probably because I spent 8 hours on the Ninja the day before ... Jumped the same train tracks going the other way (WHOOPS) ![]() And made it back to the main higway. Then onto the Starbucks to hook up with the sportbikers and wait for Tony... Here is Steve

Rode home on the KLR's as the three amigo's
![]() One RED 2005 KLR in the lead (that's would be me). One RED 2006 KLR in the middle (that would be Steve). One Red 2004 KLR (with a Corbin seat!) bringing up the rear (Tony). Way too much fun. Soon there should be some real ride reports, not just some quick after work sprints. Steve is going to go to Alaska (he's going to try in May, I think he's nuts). And we'll be doing more day and longer trips... hopefully slow down enough to take more picturs. Until then...
