First Ride Report: Linden, TN to Lawson, Mo and Back

I must confess that I didn’t even consider the thought of the ride report until I was on the road the first day. I know. NOOB.

The summer has been super busy and the fall isn’t looking much better. After the last ten weeks of summer camp I was really ready for some “Road Therapy” and time in my helmet.

Departure was set for July 28th and I would meet up with the other 6 members of the team in Lawson on Sunday evening.
So Saturday afternoon I loaded my 2000 R1100R with the Nelson Rigg saddlebags and Top-bag, loaded the route into my Garmin 2610 and hooked up the XM radio and I was set.

So the first days ride was fairly uneventful due to the time and not wanting to ride anymore that necessary through deer country at night. There were several nice country roads on the way to US 55 especially between
All went well, the bike was getting great mileage and running really smooth. I had just installed a throttlemeister a couple days before leaving and was enjoying the benefit of giving my throttle hand a break. Arrived at my in-laws around 9:30. Really good first day and no Problems.
