I always like to take the ferry from Orient Point to New London, RI. Once there I just travel the back roads through Conn and Mass to eventually arrive at either Portland or Bar Harbor, Me to catch the ferry to Nova. Plenty of B&B stuff along the way and plenty of dirt roads to suit your fancy. I never plan anything except ferry reservations and sometimes just wing it where that's concerned. Have fun.

um.. you mean Orient Point to New London CT....?
and yes, that's the cool way to go. Up through CT & NH. Along the ME shore. Pretty easy, like Geode said: head north

You are 100% correct, I'll edit my post. I've only been taking that ferry since I was 10 years old, you'd think I'd remember New London.

no worries! best part is, on a bike, you can just ride up & they put you on the next boat.
