Question Baxter State Park rd in Main

Planning a back road trip North to Main and maybe Canada depending on time from Ohio. I'm from NY so I got the trip planned from Ohio to Stowe, VT. But I've never made it into Ct or Main before so I am unfamiliar with the parks there.

So the areas of interest include:
1. Baxter State park rd from Greenville to Patten, Main.
2. E Branch Rd and Buzzel rd near Bloomfield, CT.
3. Areas around Lake Francis, specifically does Calder stream rd hook up to Corser Brook rd near crystal brook? Gps maps show them as coming close to one another but unless there is a logging trail they don't appear to meet.

I'm really hoping these are still unmaintained dirt roads. Thanks in advance for the local knowledge.

Well this answers one of my questions.
These are things you should know before making reservations to come to Baxter State Park:
  • NO pets.
  • NO motorcycles
  • VEHICLE SIZE LIMITED - no vehicle over 9 feet high, 7 feet wide or 22 feet long for a single vehicle, 44 feet for a double vehicle. Please note: Dual-wheeled vehicles are usually oversized.
  • Campers must register at the gatehouse no later than 8:30 P.M. The latest check-out time is 11:00 A.M., and the earliest check-in time is 1:00 P.M.
  • SPEED LIMIT 20 m.p.h.

Thanks just found that out. What a crock too. They allow ATV's and snowmobiles but no motorcycles! Oh well, I guess main doesn't want our travel $$$.

Thanks Geode,
I would like to tour Mnt Washington and already have Stowe as one of our destinations already.
It's just too bad about Maine. Is the other side of the Border the same? I mean is Canada also anti motorcycle?
