Tyre change, non-tubeless?
Looking for advice.
Been changing tyres, mainly tubeless for about 15 years. I run Mousses in my 400EXC and now that I have a 950SE, I need to improve my with-tube tyre changing skills.
I've got all the tools but it still took me an hour earlier this evening to replace the rear tyre (Karoo-T) with a 908RR. I tried doing the whole job using only the short levers taht I'd carry with me but couldn't manage it, had to resort to the longer levers that stay in the garage.
Rim locks - when starting to lever the old tyre off, do I work around them first or leave them until last?
Tubes - should I fit one side of the tyre to the rim before inserting the tube or fit lightly inflated tube to tyre & then lever it on (sure I've seen it done this way)?
Tubes - I've removed old tubes, some had a nut fitted to the valve stem inside the tyre whilst others didn't - how important is the nut that screws up against the tube?
Thanks in advance.
