Gifford Pinchot National Forest -Garmin 60CXS

The Forest Service has CD's with topo's for the Gifford Pinchot National Forest Will they work with the Garmin 60CXS or are Garmins topo's they only thing that works on it? Does anyone know if the forest service maps shows the roads?
Never owned a GPS I'm good with maps and compasses (Thanks Uncle Sam)But it takes 5-- 3x3 ft. maps to show this area in a scale that shows the roads and I am thinking about joining the 20th century with a GPS
Will a 60CSX do this or are there other Units that will
Thanks Rick
