France: A 1200GS trip to Nice following the river Var

I did a little trip this week end to visit some friends.
But as the weather was fantastic and as I didn't wish to take the highway, I took a little shortcut of mine
And I drew my path following the river Var from its point of origin till its end.

I didn't take much pictures of my area...
I know it too well so I don't think about stopping for a pict....
So my first stop was in the village of Gordes, north west of Cavaillon.
Very nice place. I knew the place already, my sis rent a house for summer holidays.

Then I did a pilgrimage -sort-of- to the mountain Le mont Ventoux and to the village of Sault.

Why a pilgrimage ? hum.... in 1992, I was in the army here like a lot of other poor guys watching the french nuke missiles.......

I blame myself as I was so amazed by what I saw that I forgot to take picture till my lunch stop at Sisteron.... bugger.

Then on my way to the dam of Serre ponçon

Alone in a middle of nowhere. bloody great !

Then while I was climbing the mountain near the lake, I saw a lot of paragliders.
Need to be seen more closer...
So I went to Saint Vincent Les Forts.

Guess what it was ?

bugger. this was the land area !!!

Would you mind moving your bike as quickly as possible, please ?

As the time passed by and I was supposed to be in Nice in the evening and I still have some kilometers to do......
I moved on towards Barcelonette.
Then I turned left versus Le Col d'Allos and le Col de la Cayolle.
When I was thinking about my way, I thought maybe the col d'allos could be great but at some point I decided against it.
I think it was a good decision.
When I left the road to Barcelonette and took the one to the cols, I noticed a lot a groups of bikers coming down the col d'Allos....
not my cup of tea to ride with 10 bikers riding sporters.....
So I took the road to the col de la Cayolle:

know what ? I was in heaven !!

Here, I'm at the top. I just turn around to see my surroundings.
Then I said something but as it was windy, I'm unable to understand.
Was something stupid certainly so we miss nothing
And When I'm pointing a direction, I'm saying the sea is in that direction....
So I should see the river Var soon

funny thing is the guy at the beginning of the movie coming towards my bike. looks like he only stopped to have a look at the ohlins shock
those bikers are mad !

But where is the river ?
It supposed to start here......
