Exploration
I am presently, exploring my options and am looking at purchasing either the KTM 990 Adventurer or the BMW F 800 GS. Which bike is the best value. I do an equal amount of riding on hard surface as well as off road.
Input would be greatly appreciated. I have a local KTM dealer quoting me $12,500 on an 08. |

I really like the 990.
however to be in this forum I think you would need to put an auto clutch in it |

Welcome to the asylum 2-Wheel Cowboy.
![]() Might want to send maxxrevrider a PM. He had a 990 for awhile and just recently picked up an 800GS.

I think they both hit the mark. For me 60+mpg (BMW) vs 40mpg (KTM) and Rotax reliability (BMW) is the deciding factor. You may have other factors that influence which way you go.
