A little while ago I purchased a couple of sets of Warmfit Bar Heaters from New Zealand. A painless transaction with Bob the proprieter offering a discount for two sets. Why not, I've two bikes to fit up. The price is right fellas, contact Bob for the prices if you live in Oz.
They arrived promptly, with readable instructions, slackness on my part slowed fitting them 'til two days ago.
They fit up the ends of the bars, along with a bar mounted switch, which looks cheap, but will certainly work. The construction quality is first class, and judging by what I've read ( plus a 2 year warranty ) they will last well. You will need to remove your handlebars anddrill a hole in the centre between the mounts to provide an exit for the heater element wiring.
You may wish to cut and shorten the generous leads supplied, oin which case you will require your own connectors. Finding a power source on the 03 Honda Transalp 650 required removal of the fairing half to locate a suitable plug. I had to bridge the power supply to the front brake light switch at the loom to provide power. The earth used is the brake line holding bolt on the upper triple tree. Of course your bike will be different ( aren't they all ! )
So - do they work ? Bloody oath they do After about 5 minutes of riding ( less if you turn them on when warming up the engine ) my hands were comfortably warm. after 15 minutes they were hot, turned down the heat to position 1. Worked really well on that setting in cold weather.
Am I endorsing the product, yeah sure. Bob was prompt with his reply emails and helpful in his directions. Check them out at
My kit was also supplied with an extension harness for use with BMWs.
These bar heaters provide an alternative to the ever popular VSM bar heaters which can break when frequently hauling on the centrestand. The Warmfit ones take longer to fit as you will need to remove your bars.
Price works out to be $40 Aus including airmail postage from New Zealand.
