I have the touratech side cases 41L
I used a Fehling rear rack intended for the Givi case, it does work with the same mounting points as the Touratech rig. You have to file away a small amount of metal from a non-structural area on the touratech racks, once you see it with both racks, its easy to figure out. I then got a universal plate from touratech & the 33L top case. It all mounted up just nice! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have polly heaters and BMW handgrips, they work well together. Have hand guards, and also like them. I have the Odie blankets, heat vents and also put the right side scoop back on. All good for heat managment.

When I first got my bike, the first thing I did was design new windshield mounts - I cannot stress how much of an improvement it has made to the bike. Just finished 800 miles in 3 days (90% non-motorway) with 3 mates on their superbikes and the Ulysses is more than a match even though I had my son on the back - not agressive riding just good solid progress on all sorts of roads. The wind protection is superb and visor remains bug-free!
Second most important aspect is good luggage and thirdly, that Remus exhaust - WOW!!!! Didn't see another Buell the whole trip despite seeing hundreds of bikes. I've now got my bike just how I like it and wouldn't change it for anything. Oh and don't underestimate the importance of those side stand extensions especially if you are camping! ![]() |

I fitted polly heaters to mine, but controlled by the '07 Buell rhs switchgear. Looks neat and professional!

You can wire it to run both lamps, but one will still be a "highbeam" because of the angle of the lens in the headlight assembly. Because I have a headlight modulator (added by PO) that turns both on when in "night mode" (light sensor covered) I chose to mount a switch in the handguard for aux lights. |

At first I used some throwover panniers designed for a sports bike, but I've since bought the stock buell (HB) side racks and mounted some Andy Strapz canvas Expedition panniers on these. Quote:
Odie's heat blanket under the seat makes a difference. I have the plastic deflectors that go in the gap between the seat and the frame but don't really find much value in these. Also installed a right side scoop which likewise I don't think adds much value to cooling the rear cylinder/reducing fan noise pollution but does alleviate the lopsided look of the bike from head on. Quote:
I fitted the XT heated grips to my '07 X. The fitting is very tidy compared to alternatives which require a bit of DIYing. The factory kit completely replaces the rhs switchblock and the wiring plugs straight into the loom. Quote:
I have the Touratech handguard extenders and I can vouch for their effectiveness. In the warm weather when I bought the bike I didn't really need them, but once the weather turned cooler, the cold wind would hit my knuckles. If there were no handguards it wouldn't matter much, but because they handguards provided about 80% wind protection, the cold air was very noticable on the top of my hands and quite annoying/distracting while riding. Another alternative for grip heater...I used the 'Heat Demons' from Symtec with the BMW grips and they are plenty warm. They are in-bar heaters and have a closed-loop temperature control which works pretty well.
Regarding air-deflectors for the handguards, I found that the 'problem' I had was air coming from below more so than over the top of the knuckles....resulting in forzen fingertips. Using some polycarbonate sheet with industrial velcro allows me to deploy-em-as-needed and hide them behind the guards otherwise. The GME lightbar is a well made piece and fits nicely. My aux lights are fogs and I've found lower-is-better for that application. I've some cheapie Optilux 1100s and by using them to flood the foreground (toed out a tad) allows me to angle the main/high beam up and make a nice wide fan pattern!

Had an RSS and sold it. I did notice it cut back drastically on the amount the fan ran and the perceived right leg temp was less. I do however think that the rear cylinder was running hotter. A kick stand plate is a must. I never bought the little deflectors because I am sure they will just make the seat hotter. I would look for some treadmarks mods like his heat tape to the seat and frame.

AVOID THE STOCK BAGS. THEY SUCK!
I hate the Buell bags. The latch is a camming latch made of plastic. They break unless you are REALLY careful with them. I'm always paranoid they are going to break. The hottest heaters are the Polly heaters. I have dual HID's on mine: I've got a super yellow for my low beam and a super white for the high beam. The yellow is great for increasing definition at night and for cutting through fog. The white is great for burning the hair off of deer or the occasional unlucky motorist. I have as much light as the external light bars without all the clutter. You can see how bright they are in broad day light. They aren't Treadmark's "Death Rays" bright, but they only draw 75W total.
