Sell me on the.....
Looking at the BMW F650GS and the KLR650. Both seem like pretty stand up bikes. what makes the BMW cost so much more? Is it that much more reliable? More parts availability? Better resale? For the 4000 to 5000 more, what does it give that the KLR does not?

First - both of those bikes are single cylinder bikes so most info you will find on this site can be found in the "Thumpers" forum.
Next ... um ... try the search feature .... find the BIG 30 page thread for each bike and start reading. 3rd - check out the DL 650 |

Kind of an age old argument on quality versus price. Some say you can save the money and buy a KLR but then you have to add in a decent amount of money to get the bike up to snuff.
The GS on the other hand has better brakes, more power, better suspension, is fuel injected, not to mention the new 650 is a twin where the KLR is a thumper. It all comes down to what you want. Maybe if you list your ideal bike points we could help you decide.
