spot the difference
I have been changing the rear shock of my '90 r80gs from Wilbers-Technoflex to Ohlins.
There wasn´t any issue with Wilbers, simply it was 3cm shorter than usual,
and I wanted to take the bike back to the original height.
You can see the pictures: blu is the technoflex which was mounted when I bought the bike, yellow is the ohlins from kyle racing (much cheaper than buying it in europe).
I changed the shock, lowerd the forks, changed the central stand.
The bike is now nearly 5 cm higher.
I like it more in this configuration even if the change did not affect the seat-footpeg-handlebar position and I need to stretch the legs more.
Now I have a Wilbers for sale with roughly 20000Km:
numbers on the shock absorber:
numbers on the spring:
The spring has some scratches, but there are no oil leaks.
If you are not so tall and want to lower the gs easily you can buy one of these shocks (or maybe this one ).
What could be a fair price: 200$?
