Post 6.. still finding there way around. Go easy guys.

-------------------
The 'Search' function is located on the right top .. in orange. It does not like 3 letter words like GPS .. so use Garmin Nuvi 500 276C and see what you get ..

Some of the forum names are not straight forward .. explor. You'll get the hang of it. And welcome, some of the 'old timers' are a bit picky arn't they. Me too from time to time.

You're about to get flamed. Just get the 276c and take cover.

AND move your request to "layin down tracks"where all the GPS stuff resides and this question has been answered a million times!

There is a sticky at the top of the threads there that is titled nearly the same as your question.

Macintosh-compatible GPS?

Has anyone gotten any GPS model(s) to work with a Macintosh computer and the downloadable (free) maps and charts available on the Internet?

Or is that still a hopeless cause?

Hey don't worry about the guys in this section! The way I figure the guys that hang out in the gps secton tend to be the geek types who live on computers with little tolerance for the non geeky types. Its a compliment - really :)

I'd pick the 60CSx over either of those choices by the way

Well, *you're* here You say bullshit like that but the "geek types" are the first ones you run to when you need help with your newfangled gadget. Go back to paper maps and a compass.
Some people are just too lazy to do a little searching/research before they ask a question which has been asked a billion times before. Not directed at anyone specific.
That said, I don't know which is worse, 15 new "which GPS should I buy threads" every day or one humongus 1400+ post thread which is now so bewildering and impossible to understand it's almost useless.

been looking at some of the great deals on 2720 refurbs that've been mentioned here lately, but I have a question - aside from the up-front price, do you still have to buy regional maps to load, to get the full functionality out of these, or do these come fully loaded? If there are any other costs (maps, software), approximately what are they? Am I better off going with, say, a Nuvi?

thanks
