my endless debate - 950SE vs Adventure S
i originally thought of buying the adventure S. Its better sprung and has a higher seat height for me - (im 6'5 260lbs) but i currently ride a 06 WR450F and play in the woods and dunes a lot. The touring bug has not bit me yet, but im sure it will get there.
So I received a good offer on my Yamaha but i need something to replace it with.
So the KTM SE came to mind. My one mate happygolucky really impressed me the way he rode his. I never knew it was possible to throw something that weight around the way he did.
But I also need my bike for pillioning, Id like to do short 300mile type trips two up and I would rather have her ride in slight more comfort then have her being unable to walk or something.
The adventure is obviously more suited for distance but is also slightly heavier. I would look at the adventure s with the upgraded suspention if i had to purchase an Adventure. Might be comfier then the SE? My Girlfriend did not complain about the comfort of the 990Superduke.
What makes the Monster Dirtbike any more special then the adventure. The way i see it the frame / swing arm and the engine is the same (950) but the adventure S has longer travel??? This does not really make sense.
Ive ridden the Adv in sand and it did not unsettle me, i found it totally managable. I have not ridden the SE.
I would just like to purchase a bike i can run for a year or two without getting either bored or tired of it.
I dont really want to mention the HP2 enduro is my 950SE's biggest other competition. But for pillioning i think its a big no no.
Some serious advise or something would really be appreciated.
