My First Report - ride home after Tri-City Meet and Eat 3-13-09
My husband, son and I started out from Pendleton at 7:15am
heading out back roads towards Hermiston. Then we went towards Umatilla and over the We thought we were being clever by taking Dirt, Rocks and dust hmm, not normally a problem for our DRZ’s but you put a little thing called a speed zone and a Toyota pick up going 8 mph and it takes all the fun out of it. The sign at the beginning of the road even said “Motorcycles use extreme caution” ba hum bug!! We arrive pretty easy at Sams Saloon as our neighbors Katy and Alan gave us directions the night before. They didn’t want us going in circles like poor ladybug did last time. Katy and Linnet chatting and waiting for breakfast. ![]() This was our first meet and greet and it was nice to get together to meet other riders. ![]() We are looking forward to more times to get together. After a brief stop at Sportmans Warehouse we headed back to Pendleton. It was pretty cold outside and we needed a couple extra things to keep us warm. We head up Thatcher Road and this view is looking back towards Tri-Cities. ![]() From below we could see that there were windmills on the hill but had no idea just how many. They should rename this "windmill hill". We were riding right beside and underneath the windmills. They were just awesome. ![]() ![]() All of the grey things that you see sticking up are windmills. The picture just doesn't do it justice. ![]() A few more miles down the road we stop and take a little break. Linnet stays all bundled up as it's still a bit nippy! ![]() It begins to spit rain just a bit. Not sure but I think we out rode it. Go DRZ's!!! We were really lucky we didn't get in the rain storm that would hit later that night. Yet further down the road we came upon this old house. I don't even think it would protect us from the rain if we had needed it to. I would be afraid it would fall over. ![]() James and Ryan-on the home stretch ![]() We made it home safe and sound and looking forward to our next ride. |

Glad you a had a good ride home from breakfast. Glad you beat the rain
We took a little ride ourselves after breakfast and managed to find the rain before we got home at nearly 9 pm. When we rode by your house, looked like all the lights were off, so we assumed you were already in bed. I just got our ride report on in the Pacific Northwest section. Great job and keep the reports coming. ![]() ![]() |
