Hyperlites for F800GS
Has anyone installed these on their F8GS?
The instructions that came with them do not compute. The colors for the wiring aren't what's under the seat. A call to the company hasn't helped, however, they are working on it. I've installed them before on a non CAN-BUS system before no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. |

So, has anybody installed them on a F8/F650? I got some for my '09 F650GS but am intimidated by the thought of tapping into the bike's wiring, and was going to have the dealer install it ($$$
). Are there any other aux brakelight options out there for these bikes? I have the BRAKE tail light on my Concours and it is awesome.

I finally got a little more information on what wire does what today from Hyperlites.
I should have time to work on it this weekend. When I do, and have success, I'll post here. |

I think the P3s are brighter, and the flutter is great.
Here's wiring info: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...45&postcount=2

Skip the Hyperlites, the P3's are waaay better, and more noticeable, both when they are running as tail lights, as they have this flicker that catches drivers' eyes and as brake lights. And the wiring is simple, don't pay your dealer to do it.

Installed
Thanks eveyone for the suggestions for P3's but I already had the HL's.
They would have been a way easy install as well had they come with the proper instuctions, photos and references pertaining to my bike! Anyhow, for those that still need to know, here's how I hooked it up..... HL RED wire to gray wire with yellow dots(power to brake/tail lite) The two described wires below I tied into, I beleive, an alarm module? HL GRAY wire to green w/white stripe(positive power switched w/key) HL BLACK wire to brown wire on bike(ground) I have two good pictures but I keep getting upload errors and I've got to run PM me if you need them. Cheers, Craig |
