Yo, glad to see you guys are up for a ride.

I just looked at the weather for Montebello and it shows 60% chance of rain Sat afternoon. Who knows what will happen in the mountains? Maybe just enough to keep the dust on the gravel roads down.

We're heading up the cabin tonight. You guys are welcome to park at our house, I'll have the yellow gate open at the bottom of the hill.

We'll whip up some lunch after the ride and there will be lots of beverages.

9fiddy on the fritz now, so I'll be forced to ride the Husky. What a bummer

We'll ride all the best "legal" trails in area!

See anyone/everyone at the Montebello store at 10:30 am Sat 5/16. That will be 16 years of marriage + 1day for me!

Sorry for the last post. Our cabin is above the state fish hatchery near Montebello. Its Rt 690 off Hwy 56. Follow the road past the hatchery and up to the hikers parking lot. You'll see our yellow gate, which will be open. Head up the hill and when the road flattens out you will see 5 forks, take the far right fork and follow the road around. Our cabin is the red A-Frame.

Or you can park at the store and we'll meet at the store.

Don't waste that pee! Put in in the tank to kick up the octane rating or use it on the charcoal to help it light easier.

Your sorry you missed it....

We rode just shy of 100 miles of good stuff today. It was a great mix of forest roads, single track, jeep trail, gravel road, creek crossings and twisty pavement plus a special 'A' section to pass a posse of rock crawlers the pics won't capture any action...only rest stops....so here are the teasers...
here is our first stop after "Shoe Creek"...the warm-up...

If I remember correctly this was our stop in "The Levels"....we had a problem on the jeep trail as it was chocked full of, well, Jeeps....they had an attitude and thought nobody should go by any faster then them...
frustrated we took an ALTERNATE route straight down the mountain instead of the switchbacks, now that was FUN I didn't think my rear rack would be a good seat but turns out that was the way to go on those steeps

The pictures maybe lacking but the memories are solid, my thanks to Jeff for truckin' my azz all that way to participate and Gary, his wife & family for making us feel welcome, showing us a great time and feeding us awesome burgers, dogs & brews

A few closing shots.....how to make a Husky look funny...

Party is over pack it up boys....

Looking forward to the next one guys

Dang looks like you all had a great time. Who's Husky?

I ended up putting a 150 miles on the 2 fiddy today. I rode up to Ultimate Cycle to check out some Aprilas. That place is way overpriced WOW. $9499 for a bike I can go up to MD and buy for $6499.

Wish I would have woke up earlier to ride with you guys!

Hey Chris, get some knobbies on the Yammie for next time...the Husky is Gary's...it seemed to wheelie on command nice and lite is the name of the game...his other ride is a KTM 950SE .....the XRL did just fine though and so did Jeff's DRZ....both guys were faster then me but I wasn't that far behind....

Great ride guys, thanks for the company. For a 60% chance of rain, it was great weather.

Good thing we went yesterday, it started raining about 8:30 last night and rained most of the time until we left this afternoon. It was 40 degrees at the house at 11am.

Chris, the Husky is my mechanical soul mate. Its the sweetest handling bike I've ever ridden and make me look good all the time.

A another great day of "Legal" riding in Nelson County.

I've considered a Husky 610SM (or TE with SM conversion) but I don't know of any local dealer support. Sounds like something I'm still interested in though ;)

Looks like fun. I've been gone two weekends in a row and I'm down to 5 weeks for the big ride so... I'm staying close to home.
