Sexy Yellow Ducs - Long Beach show

I rode down to the Cycle World show in Long Beach today. It was chilly at 7:30 when I left Santa Barbara and headed down Hwy 101. Down the PCH, Hwy 1 from Oxnard. Here’s a few boys and girls having a fun December morning at Malibu

I ended up talking Hwy 1 thru Santa Monica and down to Long Beach. LA Sucks, it took forever. Three and a half hours from SB to LB, 120 miles and I hauled ass the first half of it. Then it took 1-1/2 hours in line to get in to the show. Very crowded this morning, two LARGE lots full of bikes.

K12RSSteve wanted pics of the Sexy Yellow Italians so here they are,
New

And old…

Not Italian but very cool yellow

A Yellow Beast. . This one had every Touratech goodie you could imagine

A yellow Winnibago. Almost 16’ long with the trailer

Enough of that yellow crap, here’s a couple of other bikes that grabbed me.
The Tiger looks good in orange

Two up any one.

Here’s the new Vstrom 650, The guy sitting on it is about 5-9 for reference. I sat on it and man does it ever feel light. Where’s the damn wire wheels.

This is a brand new Triumph.. Real purdy

Getting bored yet? I’ll throw in one of these.

The Touratech Revamp 1150 looks good. I like it. Really makes the bike look and feel smaller and lighter. Fit and finish on the plastics was good. The tank holds 21ltrs and extends under the front of the seat. Air box is in stock location.

Viva Italy

Stay awake guys.

Honda calls this the AdventureFitz Mobile

God I wish this was in focus

Then Aprilia presented this dufus with #001 of their new model, Modello? I think. I was distracted
How you doin’

Couldn’t actually get pictures of the bike, dam sales people kept getting in the way

I was time to go so I geared up and headed home. Spotted one for our Hicks from the Sticks along the way. You know who you are.

The guys on dial up hate me by now I’m sure. There are a few more pics at http://richard-cabesa.smugmug.com/gallery/45767 If you want

THE END

and this will be more or less the WROST Riding position I ever see,,please tell me this is not a display from Ducati,if it is they are clueless,,just look at the driver helmet way over the windscreen with his arms fully compress like a old lady on a Gold cadillac, plus the passanger leaning over,I know they are in love but Come ON.

Big Mistake

Thanks for the photos, looks like that show was a "real" motorcycle show, not like the one is san francisco that is ussually totally lamme

I didn't see the Touratech stuff at all. Where were they? I must have walked right past it. Damn.

Nice shots. I sawa multistrada running around Fresno the other day. I did not get a chance to meet up with the guy because I was running a little late for a meeting. The bike looked pretty cool in person.

Movement!

I think that the problem with that one photo was the "Jiggling" going on with the subject material.

Better crumpet than the Seattle show

Thanks for the pictures Richard. Much better scenery than the seattle show. All we got to ogle was the skanks at the Las Vegas Extremes booth. I didn't even waste half a mega pixel on them. Wish that the touratech stuff would have been at the Seattle show as well, but you can keep that stooge Joey.

That is funny I was sure the Touratech distrituitor is located in washinton state, maybe they did not consider the market as a ADVenture target, even if their shipping cost will be minimal, the efford and the money was to much.

That same Touratech BMW GS Revamp was on display at Seattle...it was upstairs with the vintage and collector bikes.

There were a pile of brochures on the floor beside it for all to take.

They were at the far end of one of the first vendor rows. The way the show was all set up made it a little hard to circulate and not miss something.

The attendee scenery was excellant as well. I lost a bunch of pics I took for you guys due to fumbling with the new camera. Those skinny little Vegas chicks were pretty skanky.

The Strom 650 makes a great case for "Best value in motorcycling" (especially in that brilliant blue!) ... unless you consider that across the way, you could find an 03 Strom 1000 selling for even less.

I saw that Strom at Berts for $6400+fees. I'm sure that was just a show special. Maybe a good show special on the 6fiddy next year

Maybe, but I know they had been trying to sell that same yellow 03 for months at $6999 without a taker.

As for the 650... yeah maybe... give it a year or two and they'll probably be dirt cheap, just before they go the way of the Africa Twin.

I saw that one, it was part of the soundrider display, odd spot for it, but no tricked out adventure like the pic that Richard posted.
