The only way for the unconnected to see the podium is from across the track. Those seats are reserves, IIRC but the GP can go in front of the stands.

This package looks to be quite a bit cheaper than the corner 9 club with similar perks.

Keep in mind that the "paddock access" they talk about here is not the same as a paddock pass. The hospitality units have a fixed number of passes that must be checked out and returned within a certain time. IOW, take a number and stand in line. Also, the "free motorcycle parking" is likely to be on the back straight (of the oval), which is to put it mildly, a hike from the center of activity.

Yup. It took me being a guest of Monster Yamaha/Tech III to get access to parc ferme...but it was a madhouse and wasn't worth the annoying jostling and jockeying for the champange shower when my guy wasn't on the rostrum.

:clap I'm pretty stoked about this. Got a call this week telling me this will be my seat for the Indy race:

I'm flying in and staying downtown. Any advice on the best way to get to the track? Would like to avoid renting a car if possible (My 3 year old will be attending as well, and I'd like to avoid dealing with a car seat). Taxi appears to be $20 each way. Any city shuttles available?

I walked from the track to downtown in 2011. It was amazing! I would not recommend it to anyone traveling with people who aren't fit.

I don't remember seeing any shuttles to the track from any of the hotels. All day at the track, gonna have a pretty tuckered out little kid on your hands at the end of the days at track. :huh

Mass transit SUCKS in Indy. We're victims of cheap real estate so it's easier to go out than up so the city is spread way out and all we have is an antiquated bus system. And you can't get anywhere timely on it.

Plan on a cab, way easier than a rental, and you don't have to pay to park at the track or at the hotel.

Mrs. Easy took me to Austin for the GP this year and we wound up sharing cabs with folks we met at the cab stand at the hotel. Cut down on the price, got to meet some cool folks and a couple of tools:lol3 for us, without a little guy, it worked pretty well and overall I think we saved money.

Of that, I'm quite sure. I think we're going to hit the track in the afternoon on Saturday, and try to go the whole day on Sunday. He should last through the motogp race at least, but don't think he'll make it to the e-bike races, which I think are at 5:00 p.m. or so. Kind of a shame, as I'd like to see those.

I called my hotel (the Conrad) yesterday to ask about shuttles. The concierge desk assumed that shuttles would run (the city of Speedway runs them for the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400), but she didn't know for sure. I see that the city has run shuttles from the airport (not downtown) in years past.

I think we'll plan on cabbing it, and change plans if necessary.

Kind of an odd choice for Pedrosa and Bradl to be on the pit pass. I guess Pedrosa makes sense b/c he was last year's winner, but Bradl?
