"The Ride" - Globebusters Richard and Julia take a bunch of strangers from ANC to Deadhorse to TDF. Pretty entertaining.
They also have one where they ride essentially the same ride alone trying to set a record. Cant' remember the name.
Nick Saunders "In Serarch of Dakar" isn't bad either.
Mondo Enduro and Terra Circa are still the best IMHO.

You can watch it for free here: http://www.hulu.com/watch/79438/on-any-sunday :deal with a few advertisements. If you have Netflix, it and several related awesome old motorcycle videos are available for "Instant Viewiing." It's one of my favorite films, I've watched it several times. Not very "adventure"-related, though.

    Enjoy!

Pray for the Wildcats (fiction, Adv)
    Blackwater 100 (doc)
    Blackout (doc)
Little Fauss and Big Halsey (fiction, racing)

Just watched Mondo Enduro and Terra Circa. Loved both of them. Around the world on Suzuki DR-350 bikes! I bought both at Aerostich.

    Ok, I gotta do it....

    "Purple Rain"

    :lol3

Seriously, he spends a good deal of the movie on his Purple Windjammered CM400 riding around back roads, rides it like a hooligan, and manages to get Appalonia to ride with him, take her top off, and jump in a lake.

I dare ya to find a better motorcycle hero than that.

So what if he's a creepy little guy?

Beats a crappy movie about Che.

A movie came out in the mid/late 70's called "DIRT", bikes, trucks, bugs, rails, dirt drags, crazy movie.
I've looked for it at movie stores and never seen it.

The Stosh brothers "Adventure motorcycle Tour" and "Mexican Adventure".

These guys are hilarious, and they take on maybe a bit more than they should sometimes, but they put together some interesting movies for a couple of amateurs. Very entertaining, especially the B&E cat story. I was laughing my ass off! :rofl

I am not really sure why you would call the "Motorcycle Diaries" a fiction movie. I guess because it's has actors in it? Or are you claiming that Che never took this trip? Or that his diaries were so inaccurate that they amount to fiction? Or does the movie not follow his true diaries?

I am supposed to go in and try to finalise the above mentioned film in 12 hours.

Am having an ongoing debate with the editor (who has made, filmed, edited countless travel documentaries) about the type of footage.

He comes from a professional film making background and wants to keep it tight. That means it flows better, is more straight to the point, shorter clips, high quality clips, lots of little features along the way. And thats what we basically have now.

I agree that will indeed be better for the uninitiated ... to give them a rich flavour of the trip. But part of me also thinks the 'already into adventure motorcycling' crowd (you lot) will want maximum footage of the interesting riding bits ... even if that footage is lesser quality, taken by photo cameras on movie setting, sound less than ideal etc ... stitch together as much funky footage together as logic allows.

Any quick thoughts before I finalise this thing?
