I don't think I've every been into any snobbery about types of motorcycles. Heck, I own a Ural with a sidecar. People choose for all types of reasons, including just trying to impress someone else. The riders who impress me are those who use whatever motorcycle they have and push themselves where self doubt puts a little scar on their character. Just like exercising causes little scars on our muscles as they grow bigger and stronger, pushing ourselves puts little scars on our character, making it stronger. You're not just showing through the Big Sister program how to build character, but showing everyone here so fortunate enough to read your excellent ride report. Thank you for living by example....

    HOLY SHIT SCHNIZZLE!!!!!! :norton

I've done 3 transcontinental crossings on two continents camping wild, and rode a GS in all seasons for 5

    years.

    Kinda thought I was tough.

I look at your pix, a bloody HAYABUSA on Alasakan GRAVEL, and try to imagine doing it on my KGT.

    NAW... I'd be scared!!!!!

And not just for the bike either. :huh

Excellent R/R Shnizzle.....I told you you would love the D2D and the far north didn't I?
So, when are you heading back to rekindle the memories? I thought after two trips accoss this wide country I would be done, but after reading your R/R and remembering all the fun times along with the not so fun, rain, extreme cold and more rain.....I too am thinking.....well, maybe one more time. Not on a Busa but my trusty KLR......lol.....you are one crazy gal!

And yes you should have left that huge size 5 footprint in that old bugger's door yesterday.....poor dogs! Green boots too boot....lol

    Again....excellent pics and report....well done!!:deal:freaky

Cool ride, like said before, is not the bike, is the biker that makes the difference on where we can ride.

Sorry for the noob question, but is the Dawson City event an annual thing?
I'm actually turning my 05 R1 into a sport tourer so I can go see the US, but I have a 07 KLR that I want to take to Alaska in a couple years.......no more than 3. Lol
Another question, did you do anything for music? I've been riding without for 21 years, but I am considering some kind of speaker on the bike or helmet.
Thanks again for the info, and I will be starting a thread, for info for my trip, soon.

Oh yeah, maybe I missed it, but did the RV guy give you the Doritos for free?

Yes every year on or around the summer solstice, June 21 or so. Every adventure rider needs to go at least once!:deal:freaky

Great report! Sorry I didn't get to meet you at D2D, I didn't manage to stay up right on a rocky road a couple of weeks earlier and was still sporting a messed up leg by departure date :cry We'll meet up yet!

Well put. Totally dig how the OP rolled a busa on this one; not a lot of people would do that. Id be hesitant to take my Bandit to Alaska, let alone a busa. Every bike has its own character, and every bikes character changes based on where it is being asked to go.
