one thing this site has continually shown me: my motorcycle adventures fail in comparison to anything remotely "epic" like this one. a Jawa, around the world... that's pretty rad.

    Wohooo!

    This is something!
I crossed from Hungary to UK in 2008 on a 350 Jawa (pretty much the same bike but mine was '82). Now I have a hibrid CZ-Jawa, and drream about simply going far... Great stuff. :clap

I had that same model Jawa and it was a great bike. I put 40,000 miles on it with very little maintenance. It's one of those bikes I wish I still had.

The old soviet bikes werent much to look at, and certainly not fast, but in terms of reliability and low running costs they still seem to have current US and UK built bikes beaten by an awful long way.

I love it, i thought i was trying by travvelling 6000km's this summer through europe on my 638, also trough your country..
i like the 634 model better but the 638 has a higher and larger seat and must be more comfy.,.
Did you ever get overheating problems?
Do yu (also) think the 634 engine is better then the 638 engine, despite the double bearings of the crankshaft of the latter?
    Best regards from Assen, Netherlands
