In the first three days I owned it- rode it off the floor and into a 1600 mile trip south. Let the farkleing begin.

I had a blast- once clear of the PACNW weather.

No all I need is a nice windscreen. Something in a short, flexible carbon fiber. Designed to accelerate the windflow and reduce buffeting.

Wonder where I could get something like that?

    Izzat you, Ben?!? :wave

    Sorry, Huey... Dunno :shrug
It was parked at my father's RV dealership and I got a smokin' deal on it.
King beds in front and rear, slide-out with a fold-down dinette. 2-burner stove, refrigerator, furnace, toilet, shower. I like it.

A better tire makes a better rider makes a better ride.

I'd offered to pay for a new set of tires of many riding partners to stop their bitchin and keep up the pace. Riding a tire at the end of it's life just to milk the last ounce out of it... is a total disrespect of how little free time we actual have to enjoy being out on a ride. And how in one split second on a bald tire, things can go from fun to done. Funny how cheap a $200 tire is compared to a trip to the ER for a tweaked ankle or bunged up shoulder.

With a slideout it's an E3, very nice setup indeed.
If you're into FaceBook, they have a Coleman Evolution page, highly informative.

If they can't keep up, your friends don' t need new tires, you need new riding buddies.

    Thanks, Huey! :thumb

    Hi inmates...
    Coming from a 640 Adventure, I have recently bought a 990 Adventure S 2007.
I will post some pics soon, for the moment I haven't had the chance to ride it as much as it deserves...:cry

Been doing some cosmetic and farkling jobs instead, and now I'm analysing how to mount my Garmin Zumo 550.
I could see that to mount it directly onto the factory dash is too low for me, so I discover kind of a mount option between the clocks and the head light: it's an aluminiun plate with 4 holes. The upper part of the dash has what I figured out are two pre marked oval holes to be opened where it meets the windshield... does anybody know if this is correct? has anybody made a mount to be used there?

Other mounting points on the handlebar are not an option because I'm used to see/use it higher in fron of me... (each crazy man has his own issues... :lol3 )

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers!

That is where the factory /Touratech mount fits. Uses the 4 holes and 2 rubber pads that rest on the top of the dash.

Peanuts, thanks for your data. This is quite a surprise for me because when I have just bought the bike I asked at KTM Chile about a GPS mount for the 990, and they only offered me handlebar mounts. I can see now that those were what they actually have in stock, not all the options as I expected to be informed.
I will start my search from here then

    Cheers and thanks again.

Not to mention a potential of months or a year off the bike for rehab & healing.

    BTDT, got the T-shirt.
