Yepper, it's the TW. Winterized so to speak...wasn't expecting the snow, so don't have the chains on yet ! Can be fairly crisp riding so early in the morn!:D

I have to ask; what is this tent? First i though it was semi permanent installation, but you have it in few pictures. I would have to venture a guess that wont pack down to your bike?

it is a "Mad Bear" Lavuu, and packs down as small as a regular tent, and I pitch it on my own, I think I have a picture somewhere of it on my bike, I shall have a look.

my guess is the 6 large posts on the ground are not part of what you pack on the bike though

is it a commercial product or home brew? I love it, more specs please :D
Just occurred to me, lavuu AKA Lavvu/kota/laavu as in sami paoples tent. Like tipi, but less vertical.

Yes comercial, we have a few of these by different makers here in the UK, like this Nordic... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvlODHO8D9o although this is bigger than my one, but I bought mine because it would fit on the bike.:clap

That looks very neat, I've been interested (not enough to buy obviously) in teepees for quite a while.

How long does it take you to set up? And do you only take it when you *know* you'll be staying somewhere with stake-able ground? I feel like if you were in rocky or sandy territory, it would not work very well, especially with a good breeze.

It takes a little over five mins or so to set up on a good day, most of our ground is pretty good, and I have not had any problems yet, if I was doing a longer trip out of the UK, like Spain or Italy, I would use a normal style tent that supported itself with poles.:deal

It's a Koplin Gun Boot with a mounting bracket attached to the Cyclerack.

    Thanks!

That is in Death Valley NP, Striped Butte Valley specifically.

Here's the view from that natural shelter campsite.
