Seems so. What sucked was having to pass 70-80 people after the first two flat repairs. What sucked more was that I did my last change at the gun range in Lytle Creek canyon after escaping down 3N33. Changing tires and hearing ricocheted bullets whiz by is a bit strange...

So, are you sure it was a nail that punctured your tire?

First one I have no clue what it was. Second two, front and rear at once, a 16d nail front and rear. Last one was a 1/4 lag bolt, that looked like it just came from the bin at Lowes. :huh

Haha reminds me of the time TBarstow and I did a Malcolm smith ride out of glen Helen .
We were one of the early ones to roll out. We roll off the dirt from lytle creek near the 138 and stop at the shell station to get gas. As we are fueling some kind lady told us riding the dirt around there was illegal and a fire hazard or some shit... I think we told her you might want to let the 100 guys behind us know as we'll

Couple of us are doing SMD +/- Tenaja Truck Trail to Fallbrook for lunch this Saturday. Leaving the
Swallows in SJC at 8:30

I'm a noob on a GSA. I do have DOT knobbies (Kenda Big Blocks). Would this be a reasonable ride for me? I might have trouble opening up my Saturday, but it is possible.

I would be up for that - noob friendly? What's SMD?

I was also on another thread where a group was talking about some roads in the Santa Rosa Mountains area - looked like good dirt roads and very pretty. I'll find out more info and schedule a NoobNation ride.
