Just a wild hair on my day off.. left The Island over the San Luis Pass Bridge, headed SE into Brazoria County. Long straight stretch of beach highway with No traffic...Got up to 80----90----100 . I like to do "the ton" on my old GS,('02 R1150), as a matter of fact , almost every time I ride her. This time I said to self : "all out". No tuck , normal riding stance ,pin the ears back... Got to 120 indicated , might have had a tad more if the wind had been from behind.Finished off with a 100 mile loop back to the causeway.
    I love this bike.

Sounds like you had a wonderful ride. I like to take her out and blow the carbon out sometimes to. I saw a say'n on here once, it went something like "Life is not how many breaths you take, but how often life takes your breath away":nod

I saw 128 on the GPS on my ADV. It was a handful. I decided, those kind of speeds are best left for the XX.:D .

Slightly off topic, I'm consistently clocking ~3 m.p.h. higher on the GPS that I see on the speedo on my 1200GSA on 150/70 Anakees. I was running 100 indicated when a LEO in Wyoming clocked me at 96. Methinks the BMW speedometers are getting more accurate :lol3

The speedo on my 2000 1150GS is 4% off (on Tourance, if I am to believe the GPS). Both on distance and speed.
So if yours is 3% off, they have managed a 33% increase in accurancy :rofl

    I think you'll find that is a 25% improvement.

Say, you don't calibrate BMW speedo's for a living, do you?

You must have one helluva tall 5th gear on that thing to be cruising at that speed at only 2200rpm. What's the part numer for the final drive you used :lol3 :lol3
