Great route. Just rode TET from Rome GA up to N VA before cutting over to my buddy's house and haul back to work Monday.

Added a little section to get out and back to the Tail of the Dragon and ride along 28 before dropping back down on to the TET. Unfortunately, my route cutting near Joanna Bald Fire Tower (I think) was closed and we had to back track and do a slab round about to get to our planned stop in Maggie Valley. In short: fantastic route - glad I put on new knobbies, since the forest service roads and trails were slick from all the rain - and rocks buried by slick leaves.

The paved back roads were fantastic - honestly, the Tail pales in comparison - other than the camaraderie of fellow riders. We will be doing the northern half in a week to 10 days next year. [IMG]
