Hey Fozzy - the price you quote for the preassembled kit includes the pannier frames...

Also, to be fair, when Cotthem bought his, they were a lot cheaper (they still are from Touratech AG anyway) - around €599 as I recall... and based on the price the Australians seem to be paying for their o/e accessories, I wouldn't be surprised if the Euro price of the Yamaha cases were similar...

    Hi
i stand corrected, only around £150 more for the touratech ones then, one thing also with the yam ones they have a plastic inner so no need for a liner.

isnt there somebody on one of the bmw forums that makes boxes? a friend of mine mentioned it to me a few months ago....he has them on his F800gs they are very good quality...

there was also somebody on the xt660 forums selling ammo boxes that were converted as panniers, i can't tell you they guys name as ive been banned.. :)

But there are other options then the expensive stock cases and the also expensive Touratech ones.

I have Big Husky's, same (or better) quality and much cheaper.

Price for genuine Yamaha panniers + top case is 980 Euro, in Poland at least.

I got the Allit panniers from Klaus at Alukoffer- http://www.motorradalukoffer.de/ I made the frame myself, but I think he does frames now. I've had them for 3 years I think. They're good for the price, but could be a little thicker.

If you're looking for panniers for the Tenere check this firm out.
They will supply hand made alluminium side/top cases built to your spec, colours etc for around £460 including racks.
The company is ARD cases, the number is 07931 288035.
Check out some of his work at www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120426&page=15

Post 238 will show a Tenere fitted with the boxes.

Argh! Stop already - this video has done more rounds than 'Hitlers got the wrong bike'...

It's a dreamer with far too much time on their hands, albeit with more than a modicum of talent for animated photoshop...

I have just visited Roger, who makes these panniers, a nice chap and superb well made panniers at a good price. I ordered at that time and a week later they are ready, great service (just got to get back to the UK to pick them up!!) :clap

I just spoke with a Yamaha Product Rep and registered my request that they bring the Tenere to the US. She, "Erica," said that they'd received numerous requests to bring this model to the US. She said she had no info on when or if this would happen.

This is the number I called:
