I seem to be about 55mph on most corners, was just curious how other people take them?

you could have put the location in the subject line. you could have also posted it in a regional forum.

Take them at whatever speed you are comfortable with. Why does it matter if you are faster or slower than others? Don't be the weekly death, any other speed is mostly acceptable.

We try not to go over 60mph on the whole stretch from Wrightwood to La Canada. It's fun trying to NOT slow down for corners. Staying at or near the speed limit makes for a much more enjoyable and stress free ride. Colleen got a ticket for 65mph.
There are some awfully fast guys. I'll be going a pretty good corner speed and get passed by someone on the straight and then try to keep up...NO CHANCE...some guys are just FAST.
Just ride your own ride in control and know that the PO PO could be round the next bend.
There is an accident EVERY weekend up there. Colleen got hit head on by another motorcycle a few years ago. He was five feet over the yellow in a tight sweeping right hander. The impact sheared her BMW Oilhead cylinder right off down to the crankcase, that's what took most of the crash and probably saved her life.
Have fun, ride within your limits. Remember it's a public road with other users, some of them not accustomed to mountain terrain. Watch out for car driving snow seekers this time of year who come up once in a lifetime.

    The speed limit!

45 MPH from La Canada to Mt Wilson, 55 MPH after that to Nukes.

Too much traffic and cops to speed up there, just isn't wise.

I spend a lot of time up there, there are some great mtn biking and hiking trails/fire roads off the road from ACH up to Mt Wilson. There's a nice fire road hike/mtn bike ride to an old tram/rail that's pretty cool. Plus, many more.

not trying to be a dick, but it's a public road

    it has posted speed limits

don't become a statistic, or worse, bring anybody with you

Once you start comparing speeds, you start increasing speeds, and things happen... enjoy your ride, and give your ego the day off

It's cool to come on a public forum and openly admit to breaking the law. It's all the rave these days.

Never been on that road, but generally I stay near the speed limit on straights and double the limit on curves. Just remember to stay in your comfort zone and ride your own ride.

The speed signs on curves are not law, it's a suggestion, a big rig/bus being the lowest common denominator! So yeah on a bike 30 can mean 60, but on the real slow ones under 15mph it gets harder to double.

Yep, ride your own ride, stay in your own lane or run off to the right if you want!

A track day at Willow Springs is less than 60 miles from there. A lot less than a speeding ticket. No oncoming traffic. No signs. Very few limits (there are SOME).
