    Agreed. Lol

"When in doubt, gas it." This, to be honest, doesn't always solve the problem, but at least it ends the suspense.

OK we agreed that there was quorum at the Mohawk and decided to take a loop through the NE USA around lake Ontario and enjoy the Appalachian chain in PA, NY and NH capped off by an unsanctioned hill climb race up Mt. Washington.

bigdaddy - John M - has offered to have us use of his farm near Frenchville, PA as the launching point and we will leave FROM there on Friday morning, July 4 (God bless America) to the North East. John's place is a pleasant 5 hour ride from Hamilton and it gives everyone the opportunity to leave home at a time they find convenient and get there ... whenever.... Many have been there before. Some of us may get there Wednesday. It has a large wooded area with great places to camp as well as a house for cooking, etc. but not room for everyone inside. Address and coordinates will be provided via email/PM to those who need them.

Looking at some hypothetical back road routes, it's about 1000km from John's to Mt. Washington and and another 1000km back to the GTA. There is no intent to have preplanned days or stops, just to take it as it goes like last year. I think that 4 days is probably the ideal time span and plan on allocating Friday-Monday (7/4 - 7/7) for the ride. If it goes faster, that's OK too. Additionally ,if some want to go but can't spare all that time, it would be easy to cut out the Mt Washington leg and just head home through the Adirondacks to Kingston and get home Sunday easily. No specific route is planned. The picture below is to get an idea of direction and distance.

Like last time, we will camp or stay indoors depending on mood and weather. Same goes for meals and pace.

We selected this route for a few reasons:
    - It offers a lot of flexibility so as to allow as many to participate as possible
    - should be great riding. Some of us met at John's farm earlier this month and followed the Appalachians south, so this will be a good companion piece.
    - In 2012, we were planning on coming home through the US and running through the White mountains and Mt. Washington for the final leg of the Iceberg and Whiskey run.

Thanks for planning this guys. I will definitely be there. I'll leave Ottawa early Thurs AM and should see you late Thurs afternoon.
I'll take the couch again, if there aren't too many mice already in it.

(I'll be riding down through the Thousand Islands and around East end of Lake Ontario if anyone this way wants to join me)
