    Have you been to Scarboro Landing and drunk from the artesian well?

    It is said that if you drink from it, you will return to the location. Take your own cup. :D Cool place with old house saved from burning by Sherman's troops because it was a girls school, Frawley's Store 1833? as pictured in the book about the Ogeechee and its people (once a Georgia Tag). Old Church and cemetery.:deal

    I grew up riding my bicycle to this place to buy candy and cokes. Then I would fish along the causeway leading to it. It used to be a run-down good ol' marina. Now its a bustling restaraunt/marina. Food is good. There are some hot servers too. :wink: Good ol' Ft Mcallister. I'll be back soon, my folks are still just down the street from there.

    "Nature is forever arriving and forever departing,
    forever approaching, forever vanishing;
    but in her vanishings there seems to be ever the waving of a hand,
    in all her partings a promise of meetings farther along the road."

    The bronze statue is a depiction of Julie Backus Smith, a Savannah running advocate and philanthropist. The statue is located at the main entrance of Lake Mayer Park on southside Savannah.
