Working Out - Dual Sport Trips
Those of you who do so, what types of workout routines do you perform that you do specifically to enhance your endurance abilities riding off road?
I was thinking some examples might be: - Squats while lifting weights with the forearms - Thigh Master type tool for increased tank grip strength What do you folks do?

Thigh master... for sure
![]() .......... .......... .......... On a more serious note: Just some sort of cardiovascular excersize like running, cycling, etc... plus some full body exercise like deadlifts, pullups, cleans/press, bench press, and squats will get you everything you need. Do some forearm specific stuff by lifting things with thick grips or do forearm curls till you cant anymore. Basically just enough lifting to keep yourself used to fully exerting yourself, makes crashes, picking up the bike, and long hard days easier if its not a complete shock to the body. Best thing to do would be ride more in my opinion, but yeah, basically just staying physically fit will do the trick.

I don't work out a lot because I have a very active job, but when I do work out I stick to lunges, push ups, and dumbbell military press. I don't really get sore after riding so I don't see the need to change things for me. If you want to up your endurance you're going to need to jog for 20 min or bike for 40 min several times a week - that's the best way.

what about just riding a little past your skill level on day trips and pick your bike up more often.
I wish I had time to work out. riding is much more fun

On the Paleo thing, I read a book called "Primal Blueprint" that I found in the Aerostich catalog. Followed it and lost 30 lbs without trying and also stopped taking all of the meds I was on, have more energy, sleep better, etc. Diet really is the primary driver of how you feel and how you look. For endurance, just do a lot of low level cardio.
